MESSAGE FROM THE CONSUL GENERAL

On behalf of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco and its partner government agencies-the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Silicon Valley, and the Philippine Department of Tourism Office San Francisco — I extend my warmest congratulations to the Filipino American Northwest Association (FANWA) in celebration of the Kasayahan 2025 Filipino American Festival in Portland, Oregon this October.

 In partnership with the Philippine Department of Tourism and in support of the Love the Philippines campaign, this year's festival celebrates the richness of Filipino traditions, the strength of our community, and the enduring pride of Filipinos everywhere, while showcasing our magnificent landscapes and tourist attractions.

Through Kasayahan 2025's featured cultural shows and exciting activities, FANWA and members of the Filipino American community are uniquely positioned to promote the Philippines as a premier tourist destination. By highlighting the finest of Filipino hospitality, tourism, music, art, cuisine, and creativity, the event not only honors our shared heritage but also fosters inclusivity and cross-cultural understanding among diverse communities.

This event is a truly vibrant expression of the Filipino spirit: joyful, creative, and community-centered. By bringing together Filipino American organizations, families, and friends, the Kasayahan 2025 serves as a meaningful reminder of our shared heritage and collective identity.

 As we commemorate Filipino American History Month, we honor the generations of Filipinos whose resilience, hard work, and passion have helped shape the Filipino American experience. The Consulate commends FANWA for its dedication to promoting cultural pride and strengthening the bonds that unite Filipinos and Filipino Americans across the Pacific Northwest.

The Consulate looks forward to more meaningful programs and partnerships with the Filipino American community in Portland to showcase Filipino culture in the Pacific Northwest and strengthen the people-to-people ties between the Philippines and the United States.
