Kasayahan 2025: Oregon’s First Filipino American Festival Returns to Portland’s Living Room This October
PORTLAND, Oregon — [September 23, 2025] — The Filipino American Northwest Association (FANWA) proudly announces the return of Kasayahan Filipino American Festival on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland. Admission is free and open to the public.
Launched in 2024 as the first Filipino American festival in Oregon, Kasayahan (which means “celebration” in Filipino) has quickly become a cultural milestone for the state’s more than 40,000 Filipino Americans. Held during Filipino American History Month, the event honors the rich history, heritage, and contributions of Filipino Americans while fostering unity and cultural pride across the greater Portland community.
“Kasayahan is more than a festival — it’s a joyful gathering that highlights our culture and heritage while serving the vibrant Filipino American community here in Oregon,” said Lyra Venaglia, chair of FANWA. “We are proud to create a space that celebrates inclusion, diversity, and belonging.”
Festival Highlights Include:
Headliners Rachel Alejandro and Tim Pavino, alongside an incredible lineup of local artists.
Cultural performances showcasing the Philippines’ rich traditions.
Fashion Show presented by Miss Philippines Universe 2025 – Pacific Northwest, featuring designs by Carl Andrada and other Filipino creators.
Zumba session hosted by the American Cancer Society — fun for all ages.
Rip City Hoops with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Food, vendors, and artisans offering authentic Filipino cuisine, crafts, and cultural exhibits.
Family-friendly games and activities to keep all ages engaged.
Kasayahan 2025 is presented in partnership with the Philippine Department of Tourism USA as part of the Love the Philippines campaign, alongside local community organizations and Venaglia International Productions. With the endorsement of the City of Portland, organizers anticipate welcoming over 2,000 attendees from across the region.
